High Shoals is located west of Charlotte, North Carolina in Gaston County. This small mill town can be found just off of Hwy 321 right on the north border of the County.

Dean Black Memorial Park
The Dean Black Memorial Park in High Shoals, NC offers a lighted ball field, paved walking trail covered pavilion and playground.
As you head out of the county going north along 321 is High Shoals. Visitors enjoy taking pictures of the old truss bridge as well as launching paddle boats to explore the ruins of the iron works.
The 1.8-mile South Fork Rail Trail runs along the South Fork of the Catawba River in the 324-acre Rhyne Preserve. The land surrounding the trail is protected by the Catawba Lands Conservancy and the natural surface and crushed gravel trail is perfect for light hike or mountain bike ride.
