Spring Brings locally grown farm fresh strawberries and produce to Gaston County

It's springtime in Gaston County, so our farms and farmers' markets again open their doors to the public to purchase local produce and goods. Here is a complete list of markets you must check out this spring and keep returning to all season!
Linebergers' Maple Springs Farm
This farm located in Dallas, NC offers U-pick fields throughout the season starting with strawberries followed by blackberries, and muscadines. Picking your own, harvesting the fruit from the bushes, and putting it in your box creates a unique and unforgettable experience for visitors to the farm.
Hippie Daze Festival at Dallas Lavender Lane Farm
Over 100 vendors, sky walkers, jugglers, bubble show, VW car and van show, music performers, best-dressed contest male and female, petting zoo, DJ, lavender infused store, photo opts, door prizes, food vendors that sell ribs, turkey legs, bbq, funnel cakes, and so much more food and entertainment at the Hippie Daze Festival, May 6-7, at Dallas Lavender Lane Farm.
Mount Holly Farmers Market
The Mount Holly Farmers Market is the largest all-volunteer market in North Carolina. From the Market Board to those that help set up and take down the market every Saturday, it is all run from volunteer power. The market focuses on supporting local small farms, educating our community on the advantages of eating fresh local food, and teaching our community to grow their food. The Mount Holly Farmer's Market is specifically local and seasonal. Out-of-season produce is not allowed at the market, and a farm vendor must grow at least 75% (some are even 100%) of what they sell. You will find a community engaged in the market and a market engaged in the community!
The Gastonia Farmers Market
The Gastonia Farmers Market sells produce, meats, eggs, dairy products, baked goods, and fresh-cut flowers. All products are vendor grown or handmade. Special events are held throughout the season, including live music, fall twilight markets, trick-or-treat night, and a Christmas craft fair. Currently open Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday 7:30 am - 12:30 pm.
Belmont Farmers Market
Take this opportunity to purchase fresh produce and local at the Belmont Farmers Market in Historic Downtown Belmont, off Main Street on Glenway Street (in front of Station and Heirloom). Featuring a variety of local farmers and vendors that focus on natural products, this market is open every other Thursday from 3:30 - 7 pm.
The Hive Market
This pop-up farmers' market occurs every other Saturday from June 3rd through August 26th from 8 am - 12 pm at Centennial Park in downtown Bessemer City.
