Get ready for an electrifying weekend of baseball as Gaston College hosts the East District Tournament at Sims Park from May 12-14. Rhino Nation, it's time to show up in full force and support our team as they battle for a chance to compete in the prestigious 2023 NJCAA World Series. The Rhinos kick off their campaign on Friday at 5 p.m. against Potomac State, and we need you there to create an electric atmosphere. Let's pack the stands, cheer our team to victory, and make this weekend one to remember!

Faculty, staff, and students can enjoy complimentary admission to the games by presenting their Gaston College ID at the ticket window. For all other attendees, tickets will be available for $15 per day, while children aged 5 and under can enter for free.

The tournament's schedule spans three action-packed days. The Rhinos' first game will kick off at 5 p.m. on Friday, and their opponents will be Potomac State. Make sure to mark your calendars and come cheer on our home team!

Here is the complete schedule of games:

Friday:

Game 1 at 1 p.m. – #2 Harford vs. #3 Florence-Darlington

Game 2 at 5 p.m. – #1 Gaston vs. #4 Potomac State

Saturday:

Game 3 at 11 a.m. – Winner of Game 1 vs. Winner of Game 2

Game 4 at 2:30 p.m. – Loser of Game 1 vs. Loser of Game 2

Game 5 at 5 p.m. – Loser of Game 3 vs. Winner of Game 4

Sunday:

Championship Game*/Game 6 at 1 p.m. – Winner of Game 3 vs. Winner of Game 5

If the winner of Game 3 loses in the championship game, a Game 7 will follow 45 minutes after the conclusion of Game 6.

In their second season, the Gaston College Rhinos softball team has defied expectations and made history. They won the Region 10 Division I title with a 15-game winning streak and secured a spot in the Mid-Atlantic District tournament. Their next challenge is a best-of-three series against Coastal Alabama South. The Rhinos are focused on their batting performance and staying determined. They aim to secure a World Series berth and continue their remarkable journey.
