Showcasing Local Artisans and Eclectic Decor
This couple's love for their hometown is evident in every corner of Front Porch and Provisions. The original flooring and the iconic Ratchford Tire sign remain as nods to the past. Handpicked, secondhand tables and antiques gathered from her travels with her husband around North Carolina add a warm, eclectic charm. At the entrance is a local artisan market that showcases her commitment to supporting the community. When you visit, check out all the locally made treasures—jams, honey, jewelry, handcrafted pottery, and other seasonal gifts.
A Commitment to Locally Sourced Ingredients
Blythe and her husband had always dreamed of opening a restaurant, saving for years to make it happen. When they finally set their sights on transforming this local landmark, they knew they wanted every aspect to reflect their commitment to the community. By focusing on locally sourced ingredients, they not only honored the heritage of the space but also brought fresh life to it, creating a unique dining experience that celebrates local flavors and craftsmanship.
Flavorful Sandwich Creations
The warmth and enthusiasm that welcomed us during our visit was genuinely contagious, and we were delighted to be invited to sample a few of their standout sandwiches, each crafted with a distinct twist. For example, Blythe's love of sauce led to the creation of their signature Dallas sauce—a tangy sauce blended with chow-chow that adds an extra burst of flavor. Here's what we had:
The Dallas Burger
A juicy burger featuring grass-fed beef, smoked cheddar, pickles, lettuce, tomato, onion, and the Dallas sauce on a brioche bun. We had ours with zesty waffle fries. This burger is a true crowd-pleaser.
The FP&P Fried Chicken Sandwich
Creole-marinated chicken, house-made pickles, and a generous layer of Dallas sauce make this sandwich a flavorful standout, and the creamy pimento mac and cheese perfectly complemented the dish.
The Prosciutto & Fig Sandwich
A sophisticated blend of Johnson County prosciutto, fig jam, local goat cheese, and fresh greens on ciabatta brings a perfect balance of sweet and savory.
The Country Reuben
This hearty twist on the classic Reuben combines pastrami, slaw, Dallas sauce, and provolone on marble rye with a side of southern potato salad.
A Relaxed, Family-Friendly Patio
Outside, the spacious patio is inviting, offering a large area with round picnic tables and umbrellas for families and friends to relax together. The garage door, reminiscent of the original from the building's past, opens wide on nice days, creating a seamless indoor-outdoor flow. A few rocking chairs add a cozy touch, ideal for soaking in the lively atmosphere. Weekends here are a treat, as the patio fills with the sounds of live music and movie nights on a big screen under the stars. And if the turf reminds you of a football field, that's because it is—sourced directly from Clemson. This dog-friendly space is perfect for everyone to enjoy, making it a welcoming spot.
