For Halloween in Gaston County, there’s no shortage of spooky fun for all ages. Whether you’re looking for thrills, family-friendly events, or something for the adults, check out these Halloween-themed activities happening around the county.


Hickory Grove Haunted Trail

Settled in the backwoods of the South Fork River, the Hickory Grove Haunted Trail is one of the original and oldest haunted attractions in the area. Guides lead you through a dark winding path filled with uncertainty and suspense.The woods are eerie, dark and deep" come and see what Halloween is all about.


Haunted Dallas Ghost Tours

Scarecrow Hollow

Explore Scarecrow Hollow at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden scarecrows designed by members, supporters, and local organizations. While some Scarecrows are traditional, some are space age, and others are made of live plants, each one is a magical contribution to our fall festivities.

Pumpkin Piddle Paddle

The first annual Pumpkin Piddle Paddle will feature a unique display of jack-o’-lanterns floating down Dutchman’s Creek on the backside of River Street Park. During the event you can expect to find entertainment throughout the park with Mr. Musicman DJ, a bounce house, play ground, food trucks, and treat trails. Bring chairs, and blankets to sit on as you join us for a night of family friendly fun.


Boofest/Howl -O-Ween 

at Stowe Park in Belmont

Join the family-friendly Halloween fun at Boofest/Howl-O-Ween in Stowe Park! Enjoy an afternoon packed with activities, artisan vendors, food trucks, a touch-a-truck experience, and plenty of candy for all the trick-or-treaters. Stay for a special outdoor movie screening of The Addams Family! Fun for all ages—don’t miss out!


Community-Wide Trunk or Treat

in Downtown Bessemer City

October 26th 

Bessemer City Parks and Recreation Department will offer a Community-Wide Trunk or Treat on Saturday, October 26 from 10 am to 12 pm in Downtown Bessemer City. This family friendly event will offer trick-or-treating in a fun and safe atmosphere! Free event and open to the public. Do not forget to wear your costume and bring your friends too!
