Cramerton Khaki
109 Center St.
This Is a Title
The Cramerton Army Cloth “Khaki” is prominently displayed along with an excerpt from the speech given the day (September 18, 1942) that Cramerton received the Army-Navy “E” Production Award “for high achievement in the production of war materials [Cramerton Army Cloth]” (quotation from Under Secretary of War Robert P. Patterson). Furthermore, the mural features a World War II Era Women Airforce Service Pilot (WASP) member dressed in Cramerton’s own Khaki uniform!
The mural is on the wall of the Design Tech business building (the old site of BB&T Bank) located on Center Street. A shout out and thank you to the building owners (the Lawrence family and the McKenney family) for allowing the Town to place this wonderful piece of art on their building!
